About Dhaar
Dhaar is an independent public archive and research initiative dedicated to documenting, preserving, contextualizing, and making accessible the historical and contemporary record of Azad Jammu & Kashmir. It brings together structured archival records, primary documents, visual materials, chronologies, collections, maps, research, and public-history resources, with explicit sourcing, verification, editorial review, and preservation practices.
The archive is not merely a repository of files. Every public entry is intended to function as a structured, citable archival record with metadata, provenance, sources, access information, and a verification state.
Public founding editor: Uroosa Khan (pseudonym). Routine archival work may be credited to institutional desks such as the Dhaar Editorial Collective, Dhaar Research Desk, Dhaar Documentation Unit, Dhaar Data Desk, and Dhaar Visual Archive.
